Valentine’s Day – You either love it or hate it. Some people really want to push the boat out and some want to have a quiet drink in their local, and others want to have their G&T at home and forget about all the fuss. We’ve picked out a few of our favourite spots for a drink or bite to eat in London to help you celebrate the day so many of us love to hate.

   1.The White Horse – Richmond

We couldn’t start this list with anywhere else. The white horse is our own local but it’s also one of the comfiest pubs you’ll be in.  It’s a spacious, low-ceilinged pub with wooden floors, mismatched tables and an ‘edible’ beer garden.

A double One Gin and tonic is £12

   2. The Shard

Re-opening on February 5th after undergoing a refit, you best book a table now. In honour of their re-opening One Gin will be appearing on their famed cocktail menu.

Cocktails in the Shard run between £14 -£20

   3. Mews of Mayfair

Mews of Mayfair is a unique hideaway, tucked away in one of London’s historic courtyards. With a choice of different bars situated around their courtyard. Mews is the home of the One Gin Gallery, our beautiful home in the centre of the city. The decor in this room is inspired by the life-changing work of The One Foundation, funding clean water projects in the world’s poorest communities.  We know we can’t change the world overnight but we make a difference one bottle at a time, one day at a time.

One Gin is priced at £11 on their Courtyard menu

   4. Claridge’s hotel

If you want to splash out. At Claridge’s, the bars and restaurants are far from places simply to eat and drink. They are places to discover new flavours as well as to revisit favourite classics. Each of their restaurants and bars offers a different experience – all underpinned by impeccable service.

One Gin is priced at £17 – But we recommend asking for a One Gin Martini for £21

   5. The Understudy –  National Theatre

For the more cultured among us, how about Valentine’s Day at the National Theatre.

Following his smash-hit Barber Shop Chronicles, Inua Ellams returns to the National Theatre with Three Sisters which is showing this Valentine’s day. Enjoy a drink before or after at The Understudy. Situated right on London’s vibrant South Bank, it has riverside seating and serves a range of draught beers, wines and cocktails.

One Gin is priced at £4.40 for 25ml

Hawksmoor Knightsbridge has a glamorous Art Deco interior. They serve delicious steaks from ethically-reared traditional British breeds. The menu also features a number of seafood dishes such as Singapore-style Lobster Roll with Sriracha & Yuzu and Vietnamese-inspired Dressed Oysters.
