Port Cobbler

Cobblers are an early 19th Century fancy style of drink, served over cracked ice and adorned with fruits, herbs and berries. This twist has a decidedly winter feel and is easy to make at home.

Glass

Large wine or highball glass

Ingredients

40ml One Port Barrel Rested Gin
20ml Tawny Port
10ml Cassis
2 lemon wedges
2 Orange wedges
1 table spoon fine caster sugar
1 dash orange bitters (opt)
Redcurrants – 1 sprig

Method

Using a cocktail shaker; squeeze and drop in the citrus wedges, add the remaining ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into an ice packed large wine or highball glass. Cap with crushed ice and decorate with slices or orange, lemon and red currents dusted with icing sugar.
